When the bell rings, courts must be vacated immediately if there are players waiting. Do not ask to finish a point, game or set. Do not play for the extra point. Please relinquish the court politely.
Current tags must be visible at all times. Tags are issued to members whose fees have been paid in full. Tags are for the sole use of the person to whom it was issued.
Appropriate dress is a courtesy to fellow members. Proper non-marking tennis shoes are also mandatory to prevent damage to our court surface.
Bells will ring on the hour, allowing 60 minutes of 'play time'. During Club hours members have priority. However, in the interest of good relations with our neighbours, we would prefer that members wait until the bell rings before claiming a court. Remember that any person not displaying a current shoe tag is considered a non-member.
Beyond the rules of precedence, courts should be vacated in the order in which they were occupied. For example, if Court 3 was the first court occupied then these players should be the first to relinquish their court at the bell. Please be courteous and timely when relinquishing your court for waiting players.
No one should be on the courts or within the court enclosure if they are not participating in play. This is for the safety of both players and spectators. If necessary, please confer with on-court players through the fence at the end of the courts. Non-players must not enter the court area. This is especially important if bringing children to the courts. Make sure they know the proper procedure.
Guests are considered to be "out of town" visitors who are welcome to play with a member for one time period only. Each Rosethorn member is allowed a maximum of 1 guest/month. Any guest who plays more than twice loses the status of guest and must become a member in order to continue to play. Do not stay on court with a guest at the expense of waiting members. Local friends and relatives are more appropriately brought to the courts during public hours.
These hours (see schedule) are intended for club members and any resident of Etobicoke. Although we have no responsibility for public hours, we are responsible for our property (nets, court surface, boards, lights and equipment). This time is a great opportunity for Rosethorn to show the benefits and standards of our club with respect to court etiquette, changeovers and appropriate dress. Non-members have no privileges during club hours but can play if a court is available. They must vacate the court when all members leave.
Is available for club members from May to September. The combination will be given out to all members. It is each club members responsibility to keep the facility clean and LOCKED so as to deter vandalism.
